In 2019, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, along with industry partners, awarded Northumbria and Durham Universities £11m to open a new national Centre for Doctoral Training in renewable energies. This new centre will be known as The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Renewable Energy Northeast Universities – not the catchiest or easiest name to utilise or get your tongue around. So a new name was required. After thought and development, it was decided that it would be renamed ReNU.
The initiative is at its early stages – we’ve developed a new identity and a brand style – it’s an exciting project to work on and we look forward to developing the project further in the coming years.
