NUSTEM was set up to promote and ultimately encourage students to pursue a career in the STEM subjects. The initiative aims to increase the number and diversity of young people through workshops, events and ‘Lab Days’, where schools are invited into the University for a day of educational activities.
We were appointed to create a brand – they wanted a simple name style that reflected the association with the University, a series of educational sheets for kids and promotional posters. We created an illustration, and colourways to be used throughout the brand materials and gave their labs a less sterile feeling with a series of wall graphics. We also designed a book for the ‘Imagining the Sun’ NUSTEM project, where scientists collaborated with local artists, poets and school children.
